About me

Who am I?

Hi, I'm Jakub. I'm an enthusiastic developer and traveler with a passion for modern technologies and their practical use. My main programming language is Ruby, but I’m also learning Python and Node.js. I’m interested in container technologies – I use Docker and Docker Swarm, and I’d like to learn more about LXC, Rocket, and Kubernetes. In my free time, I manage my home router Turris and my own VPS server. I also enjoy working with smart home systems.

Job description

Ruby Developer

My work in this position consisted of writing unit tests in Ruby, working with Docker – specifically editing Dockerfile files, managing Docker Registry, Swarm, and other tools. In this position, I also improved my skills in using the RubyMine development environment, version control system Git, and other tools.

I worked with the following technologies: Docker, Ruby, and Git.

DevOps Developer

I was responsible for implementing new features, writing tests, and handling hotfixes. Part of my daily routine involved actively hunting for bugs in the codebase and fixing them. Additionally, I often tested new technologies for our specific use cases or created documentation for the features I had developed. In some cases, it was also necessary to set up a virtual machine based on Debian or CentOS 7, which included installing the operating system, configuring packages, and setting up the environment.

I worked with the following technologies: Docker, Ruby, Bash, Linux Shell (mostly CentOS), REST API, HTML, OpenSSL, Ansible, and Git.
